Tomorrow, July 1, 2008, reigns in the day where we cannot use our cell phones without a hands-free device while driving in California -- so please be sure to use a headset with your cell phones starting tomorrow.
This law applies to tourists and out-of-staters, as well.
First infraction is $20 (around $50 after all court fees are paid) and each subsequent is $50. You can bet there will be a high degree of law enforcement around this new law; it's an easy revenue-generator for local municipalities mired in lost tax revenue.
